We have offered training for over 20 years to qualify you as a Radiation Safety Officer. In this class, we have crafted the agenda to focus on the radiation safety needs of programs limited to gauging devices containing sealed sources and x-ray generating machines. We provide the technical information and practical experience to ensure that you are well prepared to serve as an RSO on a license or as the responsible person on a x-ray device registration.
Through lectures, hands-on laboratory exercises, and extensive reference materials, this course will give you the technical information and practical experience necessary to ensure that you are well prepared to serve as an RSO and will meet the requirements of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and State Agencies responsible for radioactive materials and radiation-producing machines.
Students complete 24 hours of instruction in the following required subjects: radiation fundamentals, health risks, regulations, licensing, enforcement, external dosimetry, instruments, program management, record keeping, emergency response, and preparing for inspections.
