Safety Training This Week in North Dakota

This week, NV5/Dade Moeller senior health physicist Dr. Alan Fellman attended the North Dakota Safety Council's Annual Safety & Health Conference in Bismarck. As part of the conference, Alan provided two training classes on Thursday of particular interest to the North Dakota oil and gas industry.

Intro to Radiation Safety

A review of common perceptions of radiation and an introduction into radiation, radioactivity, and radiation protection. Provides a basic working knowledge of the origins of radiation, different types of radiation, radiation interactions and health effects, regulations, radiation instruments, and actions you can take to protect yourself from unnecessary exposure.

Provides basic information on Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM), types of radiation emitted, radiation interactions and health effects, regulations, radiation instruments, and actions you can take to protect yourself from unnecessary exposure.

Alan's Upcoming Training in Pennsylvania

Dr. Fellman will be providing NORM/TENORM training on March 2 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, for the Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC). Non-MSC members are welcome to attend. Learn more here.
