Susan Winslow Joins Board of Directors

Ed Maher Serves on NAS Radiobiology Committee

Senior Health Physicist Dr. Ed Maher has been appointed to the National Academy of Sciences’ new Committee on Research Directions in Human Biological Effects of Low Level Ionizing Radiation.

UPDATE July 2014: The committee's report, Research on Health Effects of Low-Level Ionizing Radiation Exposure: Opportunities for the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute, has been published and is available from the National Academies Press.

New Medical X-ray Safety Course

Our Dade Moeller Training Academy has added a new course to our lineup of professional radiation and occupational safety training!

The new “Medical X-ray Safety” course specifically addresses the radiation safety concerns and regulatory requirements of medical professionals who work with radiation-emitting medical imaging machines, including fluoroscopy systems, positron emission tomography (PET) units, and X-ray computed tomography (CT/CAT) scanning machines. The course also instructs those responsible for managing radiation safety programs at medical facilities.

Way to Go, Desert Brains!

In the fall of 2012, Dade Moeller made a modest donation -- $250 -- to a team of third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students at Lewis and Clark Elementary School in Richland to help them participate in the FIRST LEGO League program -- an international robotics program designed to get children excited about science and technology.
